A representative of Vegard is shown in the photo above. We use no molds for our figures. Each face is handsculpted, one at a time, which means each face is slightly different and will not look exactly like the face in the photo. This is what makes each handmade doll unique.
For seating, Vegard comes with a felt-covered wire back rest. This allows him to sit upright on shelves, without having to lean on anything.

Vegard is somewhat melancholy as he sits quietly on an old log, on a cold November afternoon. Soon the snow will fall and cover the forest floor that he so loves to travel over. Suddenly Vegard cheers up - remembering that his little cabin is filled with the beautiful wood he has collected on his hikes. He will spend cozy, snowy days by the fire, carving the wood into beautiful bowls and figures.
Vegard heads home with a spring in his step.
Vegard's green tunic is made and lined with yarn-dyed cotton flannel. His sleeves are an intricately woven cotton, his legs cotton velveteen and his rust and black hat is handloomed cotton. His boots are ultrasuede, as is his belt, from which hangs a small pewter acorn.
Around his shoulder is Vegard's sack, made of linen and embelished with organic cotton yarns and small gold glass beads.
Vegard's face is bamboo felt. His beard is handmade from a wonderful, natural long line flax fiber (blondish-grey in color).
This flax has a rougher look than the other beards we make from flax fiber - perfect for this woodsy fellow!
His eyes are hand blown and painted German glass. He is stuffed with a combination of recycled glass pellets and organic cotton stuffing. His arms are wired and his head turns.
Vegard is 14" tall (12" when seated), as measured from the top of his head (not the top of his hat) to the bottom of his boots.
Vegard comes with a "Folklore of the Nisse" story tag.
