Janus would be difficult to spot walking through the woods in which he lives, were it not for his bright red hat!

Janus has a yarn-dyed cotton flannel tunic in soft shades of green. His sleeves are cotton or linen, his legs cotton velveteen and his red organic cotton hat is topped with a green cotton yarn tassel. (Please note that the hat shown in this picture has slightly changed - it is red organic cotton red fleece knit- the same hat material as can be seen in the images for Colin and Erling). His boots are ultrasuede, as is his belt, from which hangs a small brass acorn.

Janus carries a wood kindling tote made of ultrasuede and trimmed with Swedish cotton trim, and filled with red dogwood kindling sticks.

Janus's face is bamboo felt. His beard is handmade from natural flax (grey) fiber. His eyes are hand blown, hand painted German glass. He is stuffed with a combination of recycled glass pellets and organic cotton stuffing. His arms are wired and his head turns.

Janus is 14" tall (12" when seated), as measured from the top of his head (not the top of his hat) to the bottom of his boots.

Janus comes with a "Folklore of the Nisse" story tag.

All of our dolls are 100% vegan.

A representative of Janus is shown in the photo above. We use no molds for our figures. Each face is handsculpted, one at a time, which means each face is slightly different and will not look exactly like the face in the photo. This is what makes each handmade doll unique.

For seating, Janus comes with a felt-covered wire back rest. This allows him to sit upright on shelves, without having to lean on anything. We also offer a solid cedar wood seat which can be purchased along with your doll, for an additional $15. Please click here for more information.
