Janus is ready for the new year to come! It is early morning, the sun has just begun to rise and he is invigorated by the fresh, brisk breeze that accompanies him on his morning search for kindling.
(Fun fact - in Roman mythology, Janus was the god of new beginnings, and the namesake of the month January)
Janus, himself, is approximately 12" tall (his wooden base adds another 3/4"). Janus's tunic is made of yarn-dyed cotton flannel. His sleeves are cotton, his legs are cotton velveteen and his red organic cotton fleece hat is topped with a cotton yarn tassel. His boots are ultrasuede (now partially made from plant materials), as is his belt, from which hangs a pewter acorn.
Janus's kindling tote is made from ultrasuede and vintage Swedish cotton trim. (Please note that all natural materials such as cones, bark or sticks, are high-heat dried prior to use)
Janus's face is bamboo felt. His head turns. His blue eyes are hand blown German glass. We handmake his beard from natural light gray-brown flax fiber. His body frame is wood. His arms are wired and his head turns. Janus stands on a 4"x3.5" solid oak base.
All of our figures are 100% vegan. They come with a Legend of the Nisse story tag.
