A representative of Holger is shown in the photo above. We use no molds for our figures. We handsculpt each face, one at a time, which means each face is slightly different and will not look exactly like the face in the photo. This is what makes each handmade doll unique.
Holger comes with a "Folklore of the Nisse" story tag, and a solid pine seat.

Holger lives in a small cabin in a hemlock grove that ovelooks a large beautiful pond. His little grove is hundreds of years old, one of the oldest in the forest. Holger loves to travel through the woods searching for kindling wood - but he is always happy to return to his home, under the ancient trees.
Holger has a yarn-dyed cotton flannel tunic and organic woven colorgrown cotton sleeves; colorgrown means that no dyes are used - the cotton grows in the USA already in this beautiful shade of cream. His hat, which is topped with an organic cotton yarn tassel, is cotton velveteen, edged with organic cotton yarns. His legs are also cotton velveteen. He is covered with handstitched patches. Holger's boots are ultrasuede. A small brass key hangs from his ultrasuede belt.
An ultrasuede log tote, embellished with a small glass bead, hangs from Holger's arm. (Please note that we are in the process of transitioning to 30% plant based ultrasuede). It is filled with kindling (red twig dogwood and bayberry). (Please note that all natural materials such as cones, bark or sticks, are high-heat dried prior to use)
Holger's face is bamboo felt. We sew his beard from natural flax fiber (blondish-grey in color) and hand-paint his glass eyes, which were handblown in Germany. He is stuffed with a combination of glass pellets and organic cotton stuffing. His arms are wired. Unlike his larger cousins, his head does not turn.
Holger comes with a solid pine seat. He is 9" tall (8" when seated), as measured from the top of his head (not the top of his hat) to the bottom of his boots. (View here the design details for the small nisse.)
All of our dolls are 100% vegan.
