A representative of Torsten is shown in the photo above. We use no molds for our figures. Each face is handsculpted, one at a time, which means each face is slightly different and will not look exactly like the face in the photo. This is what makes each handmade doll unique.

Torsten always makes sure he has plenty of kindling wood, as autumn moves in and the nights become colder. It is a task he loves, though, as what could be more wonderful than walking through the forest on a brisk afternoon, as a mellow autumn sun glows through trees ablaze with orange and red?
Torsten is 14" tall (12" when seated), as measured from the top of his head (not the top of his hat) to the bottom of his boots. Torsten's warm tunic is made of brown and rust yarn-dyed cotton flannel. His sleeves are cotton, edged with organic cotton yarn, his legs cotton velveteen and his hat is a beautiful linen/cotton weave, topped with an organic cotton yarn tassel. His boots are ultrasuede, as is his belt, from which hangs a brass acorn. (Please note that we are in the process of transitioning to the newest uiltrasuede, which is 30% plant derived)
Torsten carries his log tote, which is made from a gorgeous long-fiber organic linen fabric and has woven Swedish cotton trim handles. The linen fabric was woven in a 100 year old Italian mill, using no chemicals at all. It is trimmed with two small gold glass beads. (Please note that all natural materials such as cones, bark or sticks, are high-heat dried prior to use)
Torsten's face is bamboo felt. His eyes are hand blown, hand painted German glass. His beard is handmade from natural flax fiber (grey). He is stuffed with a combination of glass pellets and organic cotton stuffing. His arms are wired and his head turns.
All of our figures are 100% vegan. Torsten comes with a solid cedar seat (shown below), and a Legend of the Nisse story tag.
